ABOUT ME

Amber Chenowith

Thanks for taking the time to consider me. Here is a little bit about who I am!

I'm a mother of 3 kids, 3 huskies and 2 cats. I was a nurse for years, but once I had my kids I ended up being a stay at home mom. I have been working remotely for the last year or so and have finally decided to train professionally.

I grew up with animals. My family always had multiple dogs and cats at any time in our house. I went to my first group training class with my families St. Bernard when I was around 8 years old, and was taught how to work with teaching basic obedience. I ended up with a little rat terrier/chihuahua mix. Everyone who met her was astonished to see a little dog who was house broken, didn't bark incessantly, and was off leash trained with a perfect recall. Then after I graduated college I got my first Husky. She is the perfect example of a poorly bred husky and has all the behaviors to prove it. She threw my whole world upside down. She was trained but only when she wanted to listen and she had an insane prey drive and a horrible recall, so I ended up reaching out to a professional trainer. They helped teach us so much about behaviors and the more technical terminology of the training methods. I ended up getting another husky who was male aggressive. I started educating myself about animal behavior and how to train more than just obedience. After years of working and educating myself on dog behavior and training, I now have him as my training demo dog. I network with trainers across the county and frequently attend training seminars to further my education and experiences.

I have been training my friends and family's dog for years and have been training professionally on the side for the past few years. With shelters across the nation all at their maximum capacity, I figured it was time for me to share my knowledge and experience with others. Thanks to all the wonderful support from my clients and friends I have decided to launch my own training company.
